![]() Feel free to disagree of course, but that's my impression. Seriously, this is a great game, I'm having tons of fun with it and you can tell that it's well designed. I've never played the original RE 3, but watching it on youtube doesn't seem that the cut content is that big of a deal. "Oh but they cut the clocktower section!!" yeah which was like. And second, its structure lends itself really well to replayability, so I don't think it's as much of a problem as many people say. First of all, the in-game runtime is obviously broken since it doesn't count deaths and cutscenes, so no the game doesn't last only 6 actual hours. But aside from that, the game is great and a lot of fun, I played it twice and I'm planning to do a third playthrough on a harder difficulty.Īnd this ties up with the biggest complaint on the game, which is its length. ![]() The thing I actually do criticize about it is the impossibility to backtrack to earlier areas to pick up some potentially missed objects, which is quite annoying and I don't get why this thing exists since 2 didn't have this problem. RE 3 is more focused on the combat rather than the exploration, so it doesn't reach the heights of 2 when it comes to the levels, but the bossfights are way more enjoyable in this one.Īnd even on its own, I think RE 3 is a great survival horror that strikes the perfect balance between cinematic setpieces and tense exploration, doing both very well. Resident Evil 2 is better in the level design and puzzles department, but the main flaw of that game for me were the bossfights, that I found super frustrating. I'd say it's easily on the same level of 2. This game got a lot of harsh criticism that I think is REALLY undeserved. 7 is my favorite chapter of the series, I love the new formula and RE 7 is the best horror game I've ever played tbh, everything about it is great in my opinion. This year I played 7, Remake 2, Remake 3 and Revelations, and I'll play Village probably around Christmas. ![]() I already knew the series since I played a bit of the og Resident Evil 1 when I was little, but that doesn't really count I guess.
